Miss USA Noelia Voigt Relinquishes Crown for Mental Health

Noelia Voigt, the newly crowned Miss USA, has decided to relinquish her title to focus on her mental health. In a moving statement, Voigt expressed her belief in making decisions that prioritize personal well-being.

"Being Miss USA has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life," said Voigt, who was crowned in October 2022. "However, after thoughtful consideration, I have realized that I need to prioritize my mental health at this time."

Voigt, 24, has been open about her struggles with anxiety and depression. She believes that her decision to step down will allow her to focus on her recovery without the added pressure of representing the organization.

"I believe in making decisions that feel best for you and your mental health," said Voigt. "I hope that by speaking out about my journey, I can help others who are struggling with similar issues."

Voigt's decision has been met with support from the Miss USA organization and the pageant community.

"We fully support Noelia's decision to prioritize her well-being," said Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart. "We want her to know that we are here for her and admire her courage in speaking out."

Voigt's decision underscores the growing importance of mental health awareness in society. She is a role model for young people, demonstrating that strength and resilience can be found in seeking help when needed.

"I understand that my decision may come as a surprise to some," said Voigt. "But I want to emphasize that mental health is just as important as physical health. I hope that by sharing my story, I can help break down the stigma associated with mental illness."

Voigt plans to continue her advocacy work for mental health awareness. She will be using her platform to share resources and support for those who are struggling.

"I am not giving up on my dreams," said Voigt. "I am simply taking a different path to achieve them. I am committed to using my voice to make a difference in the lives of others who are dealing with mental health challenges."

Voigt's resignation is a reminder that prioritizing mental health is essential for overall well-being. Her courage in speaking out is a testament to the importance of seeking support and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness.
