NBC 4 New York / WNBC, Telemundo 47 / WNJU, and Stop & Shop are teaming up to host a large-scale food drive on Saturday, June 1. The event will take place at various Stop & Shop locations throughout the New York metropolitan area, and all donations will benefit local food banks.
**NEW YORK, NY – (May 20, 2024) –** NBC 4 New York / WNBC, Telemundo 47 / WNJU, and Stop & Shop announced today that they will host a large-scale food drive on Saturday, June 1, 2024. The event will take place at Stop & Shop locations throughout the New York metropolitan area, and all donations will benefit local food banks.
The food drive is part of Stop & Shop's ongoing commitment to fighting hunger in the communities it serves. Last year, Stop & Shop donated more than 10 million pounds of food to local food banks through its food rescue program and other initiatives.
"We are proud to partner with NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 to host this important food drive," said Stop & Shop President Gordon Reid. "Hunger is a serious issue in our communities, and we are committed to doing everything we can to help those in need."
NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 will promote the food drive extensively on their newscasts and websites. The stations will also send reporters to cover the event live on June 1.

The food drive will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, at the following Stop & Shop locations:
* **Manhattan:** 125th Street and Broadway
* **Brooklyn:** Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U
* **Queens:** Northern Boulevard and 147th Street
* **Bronx:** Fordham Road and Grand Concourse
* **Nassau County:** Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue
* **Suffolk County:** Sunrise Highway and Patchogue-Holbrook Road
Non-perishable food items will be accepted at all locations. Some of the most-needed items include canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and peanut butter.
